Hiking

Pack your hiking boots to take advantage of the world-class hiking trails in Olympic National Park and throughout the peninsula. Olympic National Park encompasses three distinctly different ecosystems with rugged glacier capped mountains, over 60 miles of wild Pacific coast and magnificent stands of old-growth and temperate rain forest.

Olympic National Park has three major ecosystems including snow capped mountains, the wild Pacific coast, spectacular old-growth and temperate rain forest. Almost a million acres of stunning natural beauty for all to enjoy.

The Olympic Discovery Trail - (biking and hiking) will ultimately span approximately 100 miles from Port Townsend to the Pacific Coast. Currently there is a 25 mile stretch from Sequim to Port Angeles.

Olympic National Forest - USDA Forest Service
At the center of the Olympic Peninsula, encompassing the steep mountain heights is the Olympic National Park and on the mid elevations surrounding the park is the scenic Olympic National Forest. The forest offers a diverse landscape ranging from lush ancient rain forests to deep canyons to high mountain ridges to ocean beaches. Explore this unique area!

Sea Kayaking along the Olympic Peninsula
The sea kayak routes in the Olympic Peninsula region are located along the north and northwest shore. This includes routes in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Admiralty Inlet near Port Townsend.


Boating

Boat launch ramps are located at Sequim Bay State Park, Port Williams, Dungeness Bay Oyster Farm, Cline Spit and the John Wayne Marina.
